Las Vegas showroom magician Cris Johnson has a secret which torments him: he can see a few minutes into the future. Sick of the examinations he underwent as a child and the interest of the government and medical establishment in his power, he lies low under an assumed name in Vegas, performing cheap tricks and living off small-time gambling “winnings.” But when a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear device in Los Angeles, government agent Callie Ferris must use all her wiles to capture Cris and convince him to help her stop the cataclysm. Next was a very clever film.  Not only was it action-packed, but it had somewhat of a Sci-Fi feeling to it.  This movie kept me attached to my seat while I was watching it.

Nicolas Cage played an EXCELLENT role in this film as a small time magician known as Chris Johnson aka “Frank Cadillac”.

Being able to read into the future for only up to 2 minutes.  That is until he meets Jessica Biel, played as Liz Cooper.  I don’t know how much longer he was able to read into the future when she came up but it was alot longer.

The FBI wants Chris Johnson to help them find the location of a Nuclear Bomb.  For some reason he doesn’t want to which I can’t understand but all-in-all at the end he finally does.

The film was ok, meaning I liked it.  The only thing that I think could’ve been better was the ending.  They get you so caught up with the movie and at the end they don’t let you know exactly if he helps the find the bomb and/or if Liz Cooper gets anymore involved.  With that said, Liz didn’t play a huge part in the movie at all.  Just like no one else played a major part of the movie.  It was more focused in on Cage.

There were no huge stunts, besides when Johnson is trying to escape from the FBI, he and the FBI agent Julianne Moore (played as Callie Ferris) hid under the cruiser and some logs which came rolling down the hill.

So to sum it up, I would say if you haven’t seen it check it out.  I wouldn’t buy the DVD, it’s just not one of those movies you could watch again.  I have to give props to the Director though NICE JOB Lee Tamahori!
